REWORK (2-26-10)

John 1:16-17
“I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter into the Kingdom of heaven.”
-----------------------------------------------

In any manufacturing process, any “NG” or “not good” parts can have the option to be retested if it is indeed not worthy to be shipped to the customers. From there, it can either be reworked, recycled or totally scrapped as unusable. These unusable parts are then called “dead parts” for they cannot anymore function as expected.

When God put us into this world, we are all free of worldly sins. But as we go through this process called “life”, we experience things that make us commit sin to others and to God.

And like in any manufacturing process, we need to inspect and re-inspect our heart if we need some rework, unless we end up “dead” in the eyes of God. Re-inspecting our self involves letting God in our hearts and listening to His Words so he can heal all our sufferings and relieve all our doubts.

We are to repent so as to remove the obstacles that keep us from abiding in Christ. Doing this, involves getting our heart to hear the truth of the scriptures so that God can use His word to change us from the inside out.

Remember, we are not things. We are living person with free will. But it is hoped that we use this free will to serve God and be obedient in His words.

Whether it is repentance from willful rejection or repentance from ignorance or disinterest, it is a change of mind. And in relation to salvation, it is changing your mind from rejection of Christ to faith in Christ.

Let us pray +

Dear Lord, I pray that you will not remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions. Lord I turn from all of those sins that I committed and I ask for Your help in washing the memory and thoughts of that sin completely from my mind. Please restore me to faithful obedience to Your Word, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit anew. Amen +

If you, O Lord, mark iniquities, who can stand?
