Mark 6:2
“Where did this man get all this? What kind of wisdom has been given Him? What mighty deeds are wrought by His hands!”
----------------------------------------
I still remember watching the cartoon series, Mighty Mightor, when I was a kid. When he raises his hands and holds his club aloft, and shouting “Mightor”, he becomes a superhuman version of himself and assumes superpowers to protect other humans from harm and danger.
And as a child, I also came to know another “mighty man”. His name is Jesus. However, he is not a superhuman. He is above human for He is God.
But because of love and humility, he became man and lived among us. And His mighty deeds and wisdom would forever be etched in history.
And in one single act of selflessness, He would raised both his hands and shout, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do”, so you, me and all of us would receive salvation and be entitled to eternal life with Him.
And still, we would doubt Him. We would all be proud and not accept that He can do those things.
He comes to us in Scripture and the Church, and we have seen not only His goodness and love, but also His power. How many miracles has He done for us, how many prayers has He answered?
And yet has all that made us truly faithful and repentant?
Lack of faith does not render God powerless. It merely renders the faithless unworthy of His power. Accept Him and let His power run your lives.
Let us pray +
Oh Lord, we trust in You. May we keep in our hearts your mighty deeds and wisdom so we may forever believe in You. Let your power heal us and protect us in the remaining days of our lives. Amen +
Lord, forgive the wrong I have done.
