ABUNDANCE (2-13-10)

Mark 8:5
They replied, “Seven.”
----------------------------------------

I only seven 10-peso bills in my pocket. I need to pay for my jeepney fare, my lunch and maybe snack. And I cannot miss coming to school that day as I have the mid-term exam. And so, I go… continually praying that no one would rob me of my precious 70-pesos.

I reached school, lunch came. While walking back to my classroom, I met a fellow student. He told me that I can get my book allowance and monthly stipend from the cashier’s office. Wow… that is one week in advance!

I reached home with seven 100-peso bill and bought some food for Nanay and Tatay. From nothingness to abundance, we truly have a great and awesome God.

Before the miracle of feeding the multitude happened, Jesus and his disciples have nothing in them to feed the people. They even took the fish and bread from a boy. But Jesus would not let His flock go hungry.

Jesus took what they gave in faith and multiplied it many times. It was a miracle on a grand scale. He fed about five thousand men, besides women and children. In fact, they had twelve baskets full of leftovers!

By giving us His Son, our God brings life to all His people Jew and Gentile, completely satisfying our spiritual hunger and sustaining us through the power of His Word.

May He give you abundance in life as you totally give your life to Him, be obedient to His Words and share that same love with others

Let us pray +

Lord of Abundance, I ask, with all humility, for no less and no more than the gifts and blessings You intend for me. Help me to overcome the obstacles between myself and Your overflowing goodness. Teach my heart to pray only, "Your will be done." Amen +

We have sinned, we and our fathers…we have done wrong.
