MY SAVIOR (2-05-10)

Psalms 18:47
The LORD live! And blessed be my Rock! Extolled be God my savior.
----------------------------------------------

When you are drowning, do you call out to yourself to save yourself? Of course, not. You shout for help so a lifeguard may rescue you.

Or when someone tries to kill you, do you dial your celphone number to call yourself for help? Definitely not, for you call police emergency numbers.

Then how come when you have problems, you call on to yourself – get drunk, shopping galore, eat and be merry – thinking that all these things can take away your problems.

And on the next day, more problems were added – headache, moneyless and high blood pressure.

And when it comes to problem of the spirit, you just shrug it off. Thinking that you do not need a savior and everything will be alright. You have yourself and that is enough.

No one can save except Jesus. The apostle Peter declared that “salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

I beg you, come to Jesus.

Come, even though you are helpless and burdened with sins and guilt. Come with full confidence in his goodness and kindness; the cross of Jesus is the proof of God’s love for undeserving sinners.

Jesus alone can save us, call out to Him, He is just a prayer away.

Let us pray +

O God, deliver me henceforth from all adversities and mercifully fulfill in me such of my desires as may be expedient for me. Hear me, and have mercy, for Thou art the Hope and Savior of all the ends of the earth.
Amen +

Blessed be God my salvation!
