LIVING TRUTHFULLY (2-09-10)

Mark 7:6
This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me…
-------------------------------------------

I just came from attending the Sunday mass. The choir was good… and I enjoyed singing with them. The sermon is fantastic… next Sunday, I will attend that time slot, for the priest is better than the other one.

And of course, I will look again for that beautiful lady I saw in front row and next time I will sit next to her. And how about that smile… I need to show her that I am happy while singing those songs.

Familiar? Oh yes… no wonder our spiritual life is stagnating. And when we do not like anymore what we see or hear, we simply stop attending.

If only we had persevered to grow in our faith and honored God truthfully and lived a life of obedience to Him, then we would not be lost now.

God doesn’t want false expressions of worship any more than He wants false statements about people or circumstances.

Changing our facial expression is easier than changing our attitude, but true worship requires that all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength agree that God is worthy of praise.

The next time you enter His presence, honor Him truthfully. Listen to His words. Put your heart side-by-side with His heart, beating together as one. Only then can we really feel His presence in our lives.

Let us pray +

Glory to you, O Lord, for your love, for your mercy, for your patience. Glory to you, for forgiving us all our sins, for coming to save our souls, for your incarnation in the Virgin's womb. Glory to you, for your crucifixion, for your burial, for your resurrection. Glory to you for willing that the sinner be saved through your great mercy and compassion. Amen +

How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord, mighty God!
