2 Thessalonians 1:11
We always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and…bring to fulfillment every good purpose and every effort of faith.
-------------------------------------------------------------
What is your calling in life? Maybe, to become a policeman, or a doctor or maybe a lawyer. Or a preacher, or a farmer, a teacher or a call center agent. But whatever your calling is, always make sure that you live a life worthy of the calling you have received. And how?
A policeman is supposed to be an example of the law. He doesn’t steal, cheat and kills without reason. He defends and upholds the Law. A doctor also is supposed to live worthy of his profession. He heals the sick. He cares for those who are ill and seeks to make them well. A farmer tills the soil and produces food for thousands. He is called to this task and is gifted to accomplish it.
And then, we are all also called to be the children of God. All the things that we do must be for the glory of God and the betterment of people around us. Christians must live like Christians. Our circumstances shouldn't affect how we live as Christians, no matter how bad they might be and should never change our commitment to live a life worthy of our Lord.
We are all called to renounce sin and the devil. Satan tickles us to just enjoy sinful thoughts and desires just once. But sin has a terrible wage. Our hearts becomes hard and soon we harden our hearts towards God and become ignorant and numb to sin. We can put on the new self through daily repentance, prayer and deep Bible study.
To be worthy of His calling is to please and serve Him, walking in righteousness, peace and joy through the Holy Spirit. No longer should we walk like the rest of the world, but walk in the path towards His kingdom.
Let us pray +
Almighty Father, I desire to be more Loving and joyful. Help me to be less of what I shouldn't be and more of what I should be, always ready to receive and be worthy of Your calling. In Jesus name, Amen +
Proclaim God’s marvelous deeds to all the nations.
