ABUNDANT GRACE (08-10-10)

2 Corinthians 9:8
God is able to make every grace abundant for you, so that in all things, always having all you need…
------------------------------------------------------

I always know He is there for me. In times of troubles, I know that He is beside me, sharing in my suffering and despair. In times of needs, He already knows it and would readily provide them abundantly.

But have I done the same? I receive abundantly but have I shared abundantly? Or do I just keep it to myself? Later on, that abundance will perish. That abundance will rot and be destroyed. And should I expect more will come?

Should I expect that the same abundance will be given again? Here is the answer: “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” (2 Cor 9:6)

We all want to become rich. We want to keep every abundance we receive all to ourselves. Things that we cannot bring once we live this world.

Jesus tells us about two different kinds of riches – those toward oneself and those toward God. Realizing how poor we are in spirit in the eyes of God is a good start. Being wealthy is not really the issue why men falls to sin.

It is the selfish heart and attitude that make us fail with respect to God’s standards. Live abundantly – with love, humility, faith and hope. These are the things that do not perish. Things that are given and received in return. These are the things that we can bring to Heaven.

Come on, give abundantly.

Let us pray +

Almighty Father, let us go to serve and do all that you have instructed us to do. And give us your calm in the midst of the raging storms. For we pray these things in your name. Amen +

Blessed the man who is gracious and lends to those in need.
