HOLY AND JUST (08-24-10)

John 20:7-8
The LORD is just in all his ways and holy in all his works.
---------------------------------------------------------

They requested me to deliver a training on the topic on which my knowledge is basic only. That is why I did not accept the invitation. Not only me will suffer in the end (for I will have hard time explaining fully most of the concepts), but also the one who would listen to me (imagine sitting there for hours listening to a person whose knowledge on the topic is just “a level” higher than you).

It is really very hard to explain something that you, yourself, are unaware or incapable of. And so, as a human being, we do fail to grasp God’s holiness and being just. And why? Simply because we are sinners and unjust beings. We are totally the opposite of God.

Holiness is the opposite of sin. It is not merely the absence of sin, or even the hatred of sin, but a total opposite sin. It's an uncompromising purity, a terrifying dedication to what is good and right. Hence, a holy being like God is just in all His ways.

And this is also the reason why we need God more in our lives. In fact, we only need God in our lives. Although, God hates sin, He loves the sinner. And He loves us so much that He even made a way so we can reconcile with Him. He knows what is right, and everyone is entitled to it.

Understand the holiness of God and bring it to our hearts. So that on the day that we come to Him face to face, He would recognize our being and allow us to be with Him eternally in Heaven, finally clothing us with the holiness only Him can give and share.

Let us pray +

Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy. Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy. Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love only what is holy. Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy. Guard me so, O Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy. Amen +

Make known, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your Kingdom.
