Luke 6:9 - "I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the sabbath, rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Through our lives, we are subject to a lot of laws, rules and regulations. As we are growing-up, there are those "my parent's rules", then, the school rules and regulations that we need to follow, else, we will be grounded or suspended.
And of course, during our working life, we have the company rules, the rules of the country and even the rules in the area or barangay wherein we live. And violating each and every rules warrants fine and punishment.
We can memorize each and every rules that exist, so we may not forget. But, no one really does that. Moreover, what we can do is just remember the most important rule of all - "Love one another as you love yourself".
Jesus has shown this through today's Gospel. He doesn't care whether it is the Sabbath day. He doesn't care whatever things the others would say. He doesn't care whether He would be punished. But healing a man with a withered man is showing more love than just remembering the Sabbath.
Love should persist, above and beyond, in everything that we decide to do. If only everyone would remember this, then perhaps, the would would be a peaceful place to live in today. Let it start with you.
+ Let us pray: Lord Jesus, You are the Lord of the Sabbath. Your love is above anything else. Teach us to have that same love and impart the same to those in needs. Teach us to obey Your commandments as well as the rules of this land, but may we always remember that we shall always do this with loving in mind as we work to make this world a better place to live in. Amen +
