GOD IN OUR HEARTS

Luke 8:12 - "But the devil comes and takes away the Word from their hearts that they may not believe and be saved".
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Physically, we are closer to earth than to heaven.  And even figuratively, the earthly things are within our arm's reach than are the things in heaven.  And this even makes us lean towards worldliness more than godliness.

And the devil knows this.  And so at the instant of our birth, he already tries to snatch us from the angels that were sent to guard us.  And sad to say, most of the time, he succeeds.  He would show us "greatness" and "good things" that are totally in opposite to what God is offering.

So, let us all be very careful.  There are a lot of things that would clamor for our attention and devotion: wealth, our job, our hobbies and all the demands and distractions of life, and yes, even our families.  These are things that may take the place where God is supposed to be.

Yes, they are important to us.  And so, let us use them all in glorifying God, and not to replace God.  Let us use our wealth to help others, especially the poor and those in needs.  Work honestly and within the bounds of integrity and fairness.

And let us ensure that our family is built on foundation of love, hope and trust.  Pray with them.  Allow them to build relationships with others and provide and be a Godly example.  Teach them to know and love God, to honor His Word and walk in His ways.

Always keep the Word of God in our hearts and push the devil away.  But if you mess up, do not be discouraged - confess it, repent and keep going.  What is important is on how we get up everytime we fall, and even become a stronger person.  One day at a time, we can do better things with God in our hearts.

+ Let us pray:  Almighty Father, You will be forever in our hearts.  There may be so many distractions in this world, which the devil wants in order to take You away from our thoughts.  But, we shall always stick with You, and use these distractions as tools to glorify You more.  Forgive us, Lord, on those times when we fall, as we know that You will be in our hearts forever.  Amen +
