1 John 2:24
Let what you heard from the beginning remain in you. If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, then you will remain in the Son and in the Father.
-----------------------------------------
Having studied in a Catholic school, I already have the basic foundation of the Christian (Catholic) faith in me since I was a child. I have known the importance of believing in Jesus, praying, the Holy Sacraments and salvation from eternal fire and damnation.
And I have done the same for my children. I have enrolled them in a Catholic school so they may learn the same basic foundation of their faith. And hopefully, that same belief will remain in them forever.
Many may have left their faith in Jesus Christ and take on new kind of religious belief that is not rooted on Christianity or the faith and belief of the apostles. But just the same, they yearn for that single, one, holy being that encompasses everything and every being.
So what is the difference?
The only difference is that they do it to satisfy what they want… to satisfy what they need. No need to go to a Sunday service. No need to receive Christ through the Holy Communion.
But come to think of it, is these what the apostles and disciples heard and did from the beginning? You ask yourself and revisit your faith…
Let us pray +
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
Forever and ever. Amen +
All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.
