Luke 12:51 - "Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division.

Election time is near again. And, is some areas, those who are allied with each other before, are now foes. And it doesn't matter if they below to same families or clans. The lure of power have made them run for the same position against each other.
And it is a continual battle between good and evil. Someone will really take a side based on his belief. Someone has to take side not because it is the right one, but because that is where he is comfortable to move or work with. And it is because of this thinking that even families become divided.
This is the same reason why Jesus mentioned that He came here for "division". For He is aware that not everyone would believe in Him, and some people will still follow the "evilness" that this world has to offer. And as people starts believing in Him and obeying His will, some will still be in the "other side of the fence". And this creates division among people, among families, among clans.
This cannot be prevented. Most of us really have a hardened heart and because of pride, we would not accept the holiness and salvation that Jesus is offering.
Jesus always give His Church the gift of unity, but the Church must always pray and work to maintain, reinforce, and perfect the unity that we are expected to be. There would be divisions, but everyone should pray such that those on the other side would finally be enlightened and be one in Spirit and Body.
+ Let us pray: We praise you, Lord, for making us members of one body by one Spirit. We pray that you provide us the zealousness to walk in the unity of the faith that the Spirit provides. We pray for the will and the resolve to work for unity, allowing our diversity to be a source of strength and vitality rather than a source of division. Help us to remember what unites us as your people: faith in Your Son, Jesus Christ, and the unifying power of the Holy Spirit. Amen +
