Matthew 10:12-13
“As you enter a house, wish it peace. If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it…”
-------------------------------------------------------------
In our hearts reside peace and should be worthy to be called the dwelling place of God’s Spirit. In spite of all the anger and hatred that we sometimes feel and experience outside, we should let the peace in our hearts reign over it all. God loves us and wants us to know Him so He can fill us with peace and give us real life – forever.
“My peace I leave you, my peace I give to you”. Let us rejoice in the Risen Lord’s gift of peace, the peace that, should we accept it, will break our cycles of violence and revenge, and will re-create the world according to the “original blessing” that is the very happiness of God.
Christ’s Kingdom would be hell for those who avoided peace and devoted their lives to division, anger and hatred. Heaven is right in front of us. At the heart of what Jesus says in every gospel, act and parable is this: Now, this very minute, we can enter the Kingdom of God.
Let us pray +
O Lord, my God, grant us your peace; already, indeed, you have made us rich in all things! Give us that peace of being at rest, that sabbath peace, the peace which knows no end. Amen +
"See, and be glad; you who seek God, may your hearts revive!"
