John 20:7-8
“Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

After completing an improvement projects, my manager would ask me to write a technical report about it. Later on, I would understand why. Aside from documenting the project so others may learn from it, I can also have it forwarded to a technical committed for review. It can then be published not only within the company, but also intra-company. And I would be really happy seeing my name in the publication.
When Jesus sent the seventy-two to spread the good news, He wants them to gather as much soul as possible for the kingdom of God. For the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. They did come back rejoicing for they have received so much acclamation that “even the demons are subject to us because of your name."
But when Jesus explained further, they would come to realize why they feel so much joy. It is not because of the acclamation from others. It is not because of being able to drive out demons.
It is because at that instant, their names are already written in heaven.
Let us learn to serve the Lord not because we want to be popular. Let us serve the Lord not because we want others to follow us. Let us serve the Lord because it is the right thing to do.
Serving the Lord brings us so much joy, because we know that at that instant, our name is forever etched in Heaven.
Let us pray +
Almighty father, through your Son, Jesus Christ, the harvest has been made great, and you have made yourself and ways known to men. Send your Spirit forth into the land, here and now; let Your calling convict and encourage the hearts You have already planned for this purpose. May we have the obedience and faithfulness in our hearts and minds to spread Your Good News according to Your perfect will. Amen +
Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.
