Matthew 9:36
At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd.
------------------------------------------------------
I still remember that day when we realized that both our kids are not with us anymore as we prowl the mall. We didn’t know what to do and start blaming each other. We are on our way to the security office when we heard an announcement from the customer service. When we got there, the lady explained that our kids went to her and told her that “our parents are missing”.
Most of the time, we lose our way of faith and commit sins. Then, we would find fault in God and blame him for our weaknesses. We would tell ourselves that God has abandoned us.
For us, He was the one who left us so it is just right that he looks for us. It was such a childish behavior towards a Father Who has done everything so we may experience a very beautiful life here on earth and beyond.
It is great if we suddenly realized our fault and just stop what we are doing then go back to where we were before, seek his forgiveness and commit to ourselves not to do it again. When we truly seek God with our whole heart then we will see everything else in his perspective. We will desire what he desires and we will desire to keep his commands.
We will still stray from him daily because we are so sinful, but if we are seeking him above anything else then we will seek repentance of our sin and change our ways.
We have experienced straying from God. It is a choice and will become a habit and way of life over time if we do not change how we relate with Him. It should be our desire and prayer that God would give us a heart that runs after Him, a heart that always seek for Him, and a heart that longs for Him.
Let us pray +
Almighty Father, give me a heart that runs after you and is wrapped around you. I want to love you God with all my heart, mind and strength. Amen +
Our God is in heaven; whatever he wills, he does.
