PRAYING FROM THE HEART

Matthew 6:7 - "And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do we master a skill?  By doing it over and over again.

How do you win a girl's heart?  By telling her, over and over again, that you love her, that is aside from giving her things that she like, every time.

And as what Aristotle once proclaimed, "We are what we repeatedly do."

Hence, what is expected from us in our spiritual life?  Constant and unceasing praying, hearing the mass at least every Sunday, receiving Christ through Communion, continual relationship with God through good works.

We cannot develop that special relationship with the Lord, if we only talk to Him seldomly, or only during trials and sufferings.  We need to make it a habit, constantly talking with Him in prayers.

And that is not just talking and babbling without any sense.  We need to do it from the heart, in full humility and total trust in the Lord.  Make each and every prayer meaningful and guide as we meditate about our life and our relationship with the Lord.  Live it, love it and be what you repeatedly do.

+ Let us pray:  Almighty Father, I love you.  And I say it, over and over again.  I say it repeatedly, for that is the same love that you gave me even before I was born.  Continue to bless me, Oh Lord, so I may continue Your work here on earth, Amen +
