REJOICE WITH THE FATHER (09-12-10)

Luke 15:7
…there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.

Some of us would have collections – stamps, coins, expensive jewelries, watches, toy cars and even luxury cars. We would take care of them, so they would not get lost or gets damaged. And when it does, our collection would simply lose its significance. We believe that without that even one coin or stamp, our collection is not anymore complete.

And so, we would spend more time looking for that one that is lost. For it means more than just a thing, but a piece that, if not found, would render our collection incomplete.

The same is true with our Father in Heaven. We are His greatest collections – His children whom He created so He can share His immense love with nus. When we got lost, God’s family is not anymore complete.

And so He has to search for us and invite us to be with Him again. And He did more than searching. He even sent His Son to the “lion’s den” so our sins may be forgiven. Jesus was crucified and died so that in His resurrection, we would be complete again and be part of God’s family in Heaven. He waited for is and is patiently waiting for all His prodigal sons.

God, broom in hand, patiently sweeps away the dirt from our lives and restores us to our God-given image. And as we are found, the whole community in heaven rejoices. Be willing to answer God’s call, "Rejoice with me”.

Let us pray +

Almighty Father, I got lost but You found me. Still, I would run away from You and seek my own satisfaction. But, You would never give up. You would find a way to make me return back to You. And as I accept Your mercy and forgiveness, heaven would rejoice for Your family would be complete once more, through Jesus our Lord. Amen +

I will rise and go to my father.
