1 Corinthians 15:10
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not been ineffective.
----------------------------------------------------------------
When I was 10 years old, our dog at that time gave birth to five beautiful puppies. I even witnessed it when each of these dog-babies got out of their mother’s womb. They looked disgusting at first, covered with sticky bag-like membrane (placenta).
Their mother would just lie there waiting for all to come out. She then licked each to remove the membrane to finally reveal the cuteness of her babies. She would be very protective of her babies, not even allowing any person to touch them. She would nurture them, feed them and cuddle them.
It was a joy to watch. And it would even be a joy to know that our Father is doing the same thing to us… and more!
Hopefully, what we are today is a product of years of constant “licking” from God so that we would always be cute and lovable in His eyes. And like St. Paul, who first killed those who believe in the Light, the grace and mercy of God has changed him to what he was in the end.
Let God patiently lick our sores, our body, our spirit to take out the dirt. Let Him nurture you, and cuddle you so you can truly feel the warmth of His love. And this unselfish love and His unending forgiveness would allows us to grow further in Him, making us what we are in the first place – a beautiful creation in His eyes, worthy of His love and promise of eternal life in Heaven.
Let us pray +
Oh Lord, as I contemplate on my own sins and realized how wretched and unworthy of forgiveness they are, it makes me yearn for You more, as You are loving, compassionate, and truly worthy of our worship. I say openly that I have done wrong and confess my sins to You, for You alone is upright and true to Your word, giving us forgiveness of sins and making us clean from all evil.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
