John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.
-----------------------------------------------------------
It was the greatest manifestation of Fatherly love. Giving up His living Son, and be crucified to the cross, so everyone will be saved when He died for our sins. It was the greatest manifestation of Fatherly love, but still up to now, a lot still would not believe in Jesus.
They may have reasons. They may have not yet heard the Good News of salvation. Or they may have totally shut down their heart to the Truth.
But how about those who already said, “I believed”, are we now truly saved? Yes, we are saved. But are we “forever saved”? It is really hard to explain, for even the Bible says, “might not perish… might have eternal life”. We should recognize that as long as we are here on earth, life is a constant battle between good and evil. And we are in the middle of it all.
And we would always be tempted to go back to the darkness. And most of the time, we would give in and sin again and again and again. But the Lord will forgive us again and again and again.
We must always try with humility to avoid sin. We must always try to obey Gods laws. We must love and worship God with all of our heart, mind and soul. We will continue to sin and when we do we must reconcile with our Father and come back to the light.
Believe in Jesus. Accept the gift that the Father gave us. And keep it in our hearts forever. We may be tempted to sin, but ask for strength to overcome these temptations. Surrender your life fully to God in ever deeper union with His beloved Son.
Let us pray +
Almighty and ever-living Lord, you restored us to life by raising Christ from death. Hear our cries of repentance, and through this holy mystery of resurrection, give us hope as we believe in the salvation you have given through Christ, our Lord forever and ever. Amen +
Do not forget the works of the Lord!
