Matthew 14:26-27
“It is a ghost,” they said, and they cried out in fear. At once Jesus spoke to them, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”
I have been experiencing storms in my both my personal and work life –again. It has been rocking and tossing my boat and I start to feel afraid. But no! I know that He is there for me. What should I fear most? The tossing and rocking or the “ghost” that is coming to me? Neither! For I know that the “ghost” will be the One that I should trust so all the rocking and the tossing will disappear. As we come into this world we are granted the gift of absolute trust, it is only as we get older that we lose this trust. We get hurt, we get disappointed, and we lose trust.
Trust is a very hard thing to get back, to re-create. Through the events in our lives, we have always had a hard time trusting, even in God. But now, more than ever, I shall try relinquishing more of my life to God and trust that everything happens for a reason and there is a greater plan for me. And we do not need evidence, like Peter, to know that God is with us always. We must just focus our eyes in Him, take courage and do not be afraid.
Let us pray +
Almighty Father, you are our refuge in good and in bad times. In your infinite mercy, bring peace and comfort to those of us who face days sometimes filled with pain and depression. Help us through the rough times. Walk before and beside us so that we may walk in your footsteps and reach out to you in our journey on this earth. Help us to focus on our blessings rather than our misfortunes. Open me completely to receive your love.
Amen +
“Truly, you are the Son of God.”
