FORGIVENESS AND RENEWAL

Jeremiah 31:34

All, from least to greatest, shall know me, says the LORD, for I will forgive their evildoing and remember their sin no more.

Our galaxy is but a speck of dust compared to the entire universe, and still it is expanding. Just imagine how big (or how tiny) we are compared to the milky way and to the whole universe. And yet, God is looking at you and me and taking care of us. He remembers you everyday – shower you with sunshine and rain, sings to you through the birds and the sea, and lulls you to sleep through the gentle caress of the night wind. Yet, we sometimes forget all about these and commit sins against Him.

But, He doesn’t care! God hates sin, but He loves the sinner. The price for God's forgiveness is high, but He paid the price Himself. By Christ's loving act of grace, believers are eternally freed from the penalty and guilt of sin. Once we're covered by the Blood of Christ, God doesn't keep a record of everything. Our forgiveness is total and complete.

Will you be committing sin again? Well, try not to. Christian life should be a changed life. A person who claims to be a believer yet continually lives a life that says otherwise should question the genuineness of his faith. Christians should live a progressively more holy life as they grow closer to Christ. A changed life is a holy life – a perfect being devoid of sins.

Let us pray +

Almighty Father, I love You with all my heart. I thank You for having kept me safe this day. Pardon me the evil I have done, and accept the good I have done. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. May Your grace be always with me and with all my loved ones. In turn, let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and love for one another.

Amen +

Cast me not out from your presence… your Holy Spirit take not from me.
