BEING AND BEARING (3-05-10)

Matthew 21:43
“Therefore, I say to you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you
and given to a people that will produce its fruit.”
--------------------------------------------

“Are we bearing fruit for the kingdom of God? Is our Christian love real and active, something that inspires others, or is it just words and mere talk?”

I heard this during one Sunday’s homily. And it struck me really hard. Do I just write and write this devotion everyday just to write it?

Or am I writing this to inspire others and let them know the love of God through me? I do receive a response or two that they do read and being inspired by it, but how about the others?

Being a Christian is still far from being a fruit-bearing Christian. We can always read the Bible, attend Sunday masses and bible studies, and that would be a good start.

But we cannot just do that for the rest of our lives.

We need have Jesus in the centre of our lives holding us together. Jesus asks us to make our home in him so that we can bear fruit. Share the blessings, share the words, share ourselves.

Are we bearing fruit for the kingdom of God? Is our Christian love real and active or just words and mere talk? Be a fruit-bearing Christian today.

Let us pray +

Almighty Father, teach us that “our love is not to be just words or mere talk,
but something real and active; only by this can we be certain that we are the children of the truth…” Amen +

Remember the marvels the Lord has done.
