“I
know Him, because I am from Him, and He sent me.”
There were some hesitations. There were some fear. Being away from my family for months to
almost a year had not come into my mind before.
But that opportunity presented itself and I have to decide and think
hard. But, I have to do it and so for
almost 14 months, I was based in our plant in Mexico, with short vacation
breaks in between to be with my family.
Most, if not all of us, must have already
experienced being asked by someone to do something for them. It maybe something bigger like leading a
team, or making a financial or business analysis. We would hesitate for a while, think it over,
before finally accepting the task.
But once we accepted it, a sort of
responsibility was suddenly transferred to us.
Hence, we have to do the task completely and without fail. If not, then the failure is on us. Our self-esteem is affected and we feel
humiliated.
When God sent Jesus to do a task, it was
not as simple as talking to us about Him and the promises of God. He did not talk only about salvation, but He
lived and died for it.
When Jesus said “Yes” to God, he has no
intention to back-out. When Jesus said
“Yes” to God, it is not to boost His self-esteem but rather to boost our
self-esteem so we may finally accept God in our hearts and Jesus as our
Savior.
And as Jesus was sent by the Father, Jesus
is also sending us to the world so others may know Him and live life fully with
and for Him. And this time, let’s accept
the task without hesitation or second thought.
Let us pray +
Almighty Father, You sent your Son to carry
out your mission of redeeming the world.bless all missionaries throughout the
world that their work may bear fruit and love and peace may come in all hearts
and in all nations. Amen +
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.
