Simon Peter answered him, “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life…”

As the Philippine presidential election comes near, a lot of defections are already happening among members of the political parties involved. They want to ally or position themselves already to whom they think will be the winner so they can benefit also from “the spoils of the war”.
There were also a lot of defections that happened during the time of Jesus. Most believers would leave Jesus and returned to their former way of life. But Jesus is clear. He did not come to this earth to make it a better place to live, to offer fun and recreation to mankind. He did not die upon that cruel cross in order for man to have a good time. He died to save us.
He died so we would be in heaven someday. He died so we can win heaven and be with our loved ones again in heaven.
Isn’t it sweet? Isn’t it beautiful?
“To whom shall we go?” You, and I need, someone to whom we must go. Someone who is dependable and trustworthy. Someone who can meet our every need.
Jesus is the answer. He offers what no one else can offer. He can give you hope. He can bestow upon you spiritual blessings. He can give you freedom from sins. He can bring you home to the Heavenly Father when our days on this earth are finished.
“To whom shall we go?” To the only one who is Christ.
“Are we ready?” The only answer is “Yes”.
Let us pray +
Almighty Father, only You can satisfy our needs. Only to you shall we go. For your Spirit gives life; the words You have spoken heals us. We accept Your invitation of being in Your love forever. Amen +
How shall I make a return to the Lord for all the good he has done for me?
