BY FAITH IN HIS NAME (4-08-10)

Acts 3:12
“You children of Israel, why are you amazed at this, and why do you look so intently at us as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety?”

Achievements in life… having finished college as a scholar; having completed projects that may have benefitted the company in one way or the other; continually raising my kids to be God-fearing individuals.

But have I also succeeded in making myself better that I was yesterday? Have I made myself closer to God as I come closer to my grave?

I tried, I am trying and I will continually try… for being with Him is the only perfect thing to do – the only reason why we persevere to live our life in total obedience to His Words and His will.

We may have achieved a lot already in life, but let us not forget that we made it this far not because of our own power or piety. We accomplished them because we are doing it for the glory of God and so to Him, we bring back all the glory.

Stop trusting in earthly things, earthly relationships, our own powers or talents or beauty, or the goodness we see in others.

Find the source of all beauty in God alone, celebrate daily in His presence.

To God be the glory, great things He has done;
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He has done.
