ONE HEART AND MIND (4-13-10)

Acts 4:32
The community of believers was of one heart and mind, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own…
-------------------------------------------------

During our one year stay in Mexico, although we are away from our family, we have become a part of another “family”. They are the Filipino community in Tijuana. And once a week, we would gather as a family and listen to the Words of God. After consuming God’s words, we would then share dinner and share stories and clean fun.

During that gathering, there were many moments when I was overwhelmed with emotion, not just because of the beauty of sharing but because of the power of God's presence.

I began to see and feel that the act of our family worshipping together in that capacity was pleasing to God in so many ways.

What a powerful image – God being overjoyed by the joint worship of a family. A family tied together not by blood nor by marriage, but by love and affection that binds us together.

And that same love and feeling, I want to share with my family back home, allowing God to be center of our lives and the healer of everything.

Let us not forget how powerful the family is. Let us not forget the importance of coming together and raising one voice to God- worshipping Him with a oneness of heart, mind, and spirit.

Let us pray +

Almighty and ever-living Lord, Thank you for allowing me to experience your presence and the overwhelming joy that I believe it brings to you to see your family- your creation- coming together and worshipping you. Come into our hearts Lord and prepare us to receive the healing. Because it is good and all things that you have created are worth being healed and restored. Amen +

The Lord is king; he is robed in majesty.
