John 14:2
In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?
-----------------------------------------------
Other Bible versions would have it phrased as “In my Father’s house, there are many mansions”. So isn’t that great?! God has prepared for us not just a nipa hut, or a studio-type condominium but a mansion in heaven.
For the real place where we should be is in Heaven, together with all the angels and saints that have come before us. And as we go and live through these days of our lives here on earth, we must strive to always think, act and set our minds on things above us.
There may be some of us that chose to change citizenship, with the way we act and behave, but isn’t it great to know that God has already forgiven us. May they all come to their senses, and start accepting again their true citizenship, but accepting our Lord Jesus Christ fully in our hearts.
Let us all hope for heaven.
Christian hope looks forward to two things from God: that his Kingdom may come in glory and that his Kingdom may begin already here on earth. And only then would they really experience the real joy of living together with the King of all nations and heavens.
How lovely is your dwelling place, Oh Lord, our King and Mighty God. May we persevere here on earth to be with you in that mansion.
Let us pray +
Almighty Father, for now, we live in this other side of heaven, knowing that sometime in the future, we would join You in that place where our loyalty should lie, where our true citizenship is rooted. Lord, give us a healthy appreciation of the beauty and wonder of this world. May we pour ourselves out, living for you. This is not our true home but our destiny is eternal life with you. Through Jesus Christ our Lord and him alone. Amen +
You are my Son; this day I have begotten you.
