Fourth Sunday of Lent
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.
-------------------------------------
The meaning of the word “begotten” is to be birthed by God. If you are in Christ, you are there by a second spiritual birth. You are now a new spirit being. Every individual who is in Christ Jesus has been begotten of Almighty God. As Peter has declared, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
It is really great to know that we are children of God. And with this reality, it gives us hope, knowing that He is with us always – taking care of and loving us. The words of Christ give us hope, regardless of the circumstances surrounding our lives, because He is our hope. We cannot separate living in Christ from hope because He is our hope of glory, not doubt. He empowers us through God’s Promises to do the work of hoping. Therefore, we live and diligently do all that we do in Christ in the hope of experiencing the good things that God has in store for His children.
Our brother, Jesus, has died for us to gain eternal life. We are God’s begotten children, NOT forgotten ones. And through Jesus, we are destined to partake of the things that exist in Christ by the words that reside in Him. Therefore, in Christ, we believe and wait to see God’s Promises fulfilled in our lives.
Let us pray +
Almighty Father, we cannot separate our lives from Christ because He is our hope of glory, not doubt. He empowers us through Your Promises to do the work of hoping. Therefore, we live and diligently do all that we do in Christ in the hope of experiencing the good things that You, our Father, has in store for us, your begotten children.
Amen +
Let my tongue be silenced, if I ever forget You!
