Mark 5:34
He said to her,
“Daughter, your faith has saved you. Go
in peace and be cured of your affliction.”
After my operation, the
doctor said that the wound will heal after about seven days. So I need to go back to his clinic so he can
remove the suture. And so after a week,
I was at the doctor’s clinic.
He looked at the wound and told me that it
has not healed. He was puzzled at first,
until my wife spilled the beans. “He
always touch his wound.” That is when
the doctor was able to explain it. For
touching it would infect it and healing will not progress at normal pace.
I was restless and did not listen to what
the doctor said. And so my wound will
not heal as expected.
Most of us also have afflictions. Not necessarily physical wounds. It could also be emotional and mental wounds. And most of the time, we become
restless. We blame others for it. We try to fix it ourselves. We try to fix it our way. And so it doesn’t heal for a long time.
And so the Lord said, “Go in peace.” We must find first that rest and calmness in
our mind before we can expect to be healed of all our afflictions. And only God can give us that peace in our
heart. Be ready to accept the pain. Be ready to shed blood for it.
But, be ready to forgive. And be ready to let go. Without bitterness. Without hatred.
Let us pray +
Almighty
Father, teach me to let go of
all the bitterness in my heart. Teach me
to let go without hatred. Cure me of all
my afflictions as I find peace only in You.
Amen +
They will praise you, Lord, who long for you.
