Mark 6:11
“Whatever place
does not welcome you or listen to you, leave there and shake the dust off your
feet in testimony against them.”
A man boarded the bus I was riding going to
the office. Suddenly, he stood up. Some of us thought he was a robber. But then, he took out, not a gun, but a
Bible. He then started preaching.
I then looked around at the reactions of people around
me. One lady got her phone and started
texting. Another man looked far away as
if trying to focus his attention to something else. A young girl, though, looking at the man,
must have been at lost to what he is saying.
Her mother is actually busy talking with a friend. And some just closed their eyes.
But the man still went on with his preaching. When he finished, he distributed an envelope
for donation. The man beside me
remarked, “sabi na nga ba (what I was thinking is right)”.
Well, it could be about the money. Or the money may be going to something
good. We can give or not, it is our
choice. But judging the person as being
there just for the money is something not right.
There is nothing wrong listening to the Word of God
being preached. There is nothing wrong
absorbing what is right and applies that in our lives.
There is nothing wrong welcoming His word into our
hearts as we start or end our day. If is
about God, there is really nothing wrong about it.
When the man got off the bus, the conductor opened the
TV in the bus and tuned in to a telenovela.
People started to become attentive.
Some opened their eyes and watched.
You can see them giggling and enjoying the show.
Let us pray +
Almighty
Father, may we listen to your
Word. It is not enough that we believe
in You. We must also accept Your Word in
our hearts. Amen +
Great is the LORD and wholly to be praised…
