1 John 4:18
There is no
fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with
punishment, and so one who fears is not yet perfect in love.
Only God is perfect. But He wants us to also be one. And yet, we always think that we cannot
possibly be perfect.
And how can we be, if we do not even attempt to go
that way of perfection? We fear that
people will taunt us, that people will not believe us, that people will only
say that we are just doing this to show-off.
If this is how we think, then we are really doomed to
fail. But the Lord is clear that the
first thing that we need to do is to love.
Love God first then those that are near to you, and then others.
Love God first.
Follow His commandments. Follow
the sacraments that He gave us. Yes, we
can fail, be tempted and then sin, but God is giving us another chance… and
another and another and another. He
simply doesn’t give up. It is us who
gives up… so, get up and going. He is
there waiting.
Then love our family.
They are the stronghold of our being.
We turn to them for strength. I
failed my family on this one once, but I am trying to get back again to
them. I should be their strength as God
is my strength and my power. I do hope
and pray that I will succeed for I cannot lose them again.
Finally, love others.
Even your enemies. This is the
perfection God wants us to go through.
Giving and loving. Loving and
giving. If you can start caring for
others, then you must already have learned and continued loving God and your
family. You must have already taken out
all the fears from your life and started living a life totally dedicated to
God.
And that, my friend, is perfection.
Let us pray +
Almighty
Father, I may not be perfect but in Your eyes, I can be one. Teach me to learn to live a life full of love
– love for You, my family and others.
Take away all the fears in my life towards perfection in You. Amen
+
Lord, every nation on earth will adore you.
