Mark 1:17
“Come after me,
and I will make you fishers of men.”
I once owned an aquarium. I was really excited when I started setting
it up, putting the water and then finally the fishes. I started out with the goldfishes as they are
easy to take care of.
And once they start swimming, I thought they were very
happy in their new habitat. Until I
observed that they would just go around in circles, limited by the glass
walls. There was even a time when one of
the fishes tried to “escape” and jumped out of the aquarium.
I just saw it on the floor – lifeless.
Our lives now, as we know it, are limited by the
things and people that we see and go out with.
And depending on the experiences and people that we interact with, we
live really on a very limited space of glass walls.
And the Lord knows what and how we feel about it. We try to struggle against the norm. We try to escape from the reality of it
all. But as we do it, the more do we end
up lost and “lifeless”.
He is trying to reach out to us, but we continue to
struggle to escape from Him. And when
things get rough, it will be His fault and not ours. Still, the Lord wants to catch us so He can
give us a bigger space where to live our lives – not just better, but the best;
not just great, but the greatest.
Allow yourself to be caught. Let Him bring you to a bigger, unlimited
aquarium where you can swim and swim and swim with Him. Life should not be just a four-walled prison,
but rather an experience of total commitment to His word and a life worth
living for others.
Let us pray +
Almighty
Father, catch me. I am already tired of swimming away from
you. I am already tired of trying to
make things happen my way. It is now
time to make things your way and so I may experience life fully as I serve You
forever and ever. Amen
+
Let all his angels worship him.
