John 6:40
For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.

What makes you happy? What makes you very happy? You may say, that would be relative, which, by logic, is correct.
Happiness "happens" when you satisfy a desire. If you desire a cool drink on a hot day, a glass of ice water can make you happy. If you desire a million dollars, winning the lottery can make you happy. If you desire fame, winning a gold medal in the Olympics can make you happy. But all of which will only be for a while.
Eventually, a cool drink, a million dollars, or even an Olympic gold medal becomes a memory. None of them lasts forever. None of them can make you perfectly happy. Eternal happiness can only exist if there is something that is perfect, that has no limit, that can be enjoyed forever. The common name for this Perfect Being that has no limits and that can be enjoyed forever is GOD.
God is offering us the perfect happiness in heaven. In fact, He has given us that happiness through His Son, Jesus Christ, because He loves each and everyone of us. And the happiness we would experience would be absolute and never relative, lasting forever because we would be with God who is perfect.
If you dare to ask the question, “What must I do to attain eternal happiness?” be aware, because deep down inside you already know the answer.
Let us pray +
Almighty Father, in glorifying Jesus and sending us your Spirit, You open the way to eternal life. May my sharing in this Gift increase my love and make my faith grow stronger. Send Your Spirit to cleanse my life so that the offering of myself to You may be pleasing to You. May my sharing in the Eucharist, our Bread of Life, bring me eternal life. Amen +
Though I walk in the valley of darkness, I fear no evil, for you are with me.
