For a first-timer, it was indeed a very successful one. Last Friday, December 14, we had a gift-giving celebration and Christmas Party. It benefited about 50 children together with their parents, coming from the community where my wife grew up. It was co-sponsored by the Aquinas and Dominican College Family Council and the CGS Homeowners Association together with the Department of Social Works and Development (DSWD) Mandaluyong Chapter.

The day started with a mass celebrated by Fr. Louis Niez. Immediately after, the gift-giving started where we distributed groceries and toys to the children. Then, dinner and party time!

Christmas is truly for the kids and for those who are kids at heart. As the celebration of our Lord’s nativity draws near, may we never forget that the true happiness in this season of joy can only be realized through sharing and giving. May we share our hearts with the needy and those longing for our unending love and care.

Let us pray +

God, our Father
We pray that You will protect our children.
Keep them safe from harm
And help them to grow healthy in mind and body.
Give them enough strength to keep their faith in You,
And keep alive their joy at the Birth of Jesus at Christmas time.
