Matthew 15:32
“My heart is
moved with pity for the crowd, for they have been with me now for three days
and have nothing to eat…”
“I do not want to send them away hungry…”
I would sometimes tell my wife whenever we have
visitors. So I would ask her to cook or
buy something to eat before they leave.
Or maybe, so that when I visit them, they would also do the same. Shame on me…
“I do not have spare coins, maybe she can ask from
somebody else…”
I would tell my wife whenever a beggar would approach
us asking for food or money. And I would
not care if she has not eaten for days, as long as I can eat at my favorite
food house. Shame on me…
For the Lord is different… Jesus’ heart is moved with pity for everyone.
The hungry…
The sick…
The oppressed…
The lame, the blind…
Jesus’ heart is moved with pity for all of us, for we
always put ourselves above everyone else.
His heart is moved for pity for all of us, because we
are hungry for love, sick in spirit, and blind to things that would concern us
most.
Let us come back to Him
and feed on His Words and let our hearts listen to Him forever. So our spirit may feel full, and have that
attitude to share that same feeling of fullness and joy with others.
Let us pray +
Lord Jesus, indeed, have pity on us. And
then may you finding us sharing your compassion with others who need your pity
too. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen +
I shall live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.
