John 9:39
“I came into
this world for judgment, so that those who do not see might see, and those who
do see might become blind.”
Everytime I would pass by that area and
stop at the intersection, I would see him.
He would use his long rod to guide him through his way. He would touch the cars to know if he is in
the right place. Then he would extend
his hands and ask for alms. After giving
him some money, he would respond, “Thanks you.
May God bless you”.
I believe he would do this everyday. What is amazing is that with only the use of
the rod and maybe, his sharp hearing, he would be able to navigate through
these dangerous roads and not be harmed by incoming vehicles.
He is blind, but yes, he can live in this fast-paced
world for he truly believe that God continue to bless him and those who extends
help. He learned to accept his
disability but it did not prevented him to “see” the world around him, and the
God who continually protects and guides him.
And yet, there are those of us who are complete
physically, but still we are incomplete spiritually. Though we have eyesight, we still cannot see
life a full of meaning. We still live in
total darkness. We still ask for a lot
of things and gets afraid if we cannot get what we want.
Let Jesus be our light. Light helps us see things. Jesus gives us the
truth about God and about life, our origin, and our destiny. Jesus guides us safely through life to our
heavenly home. Light promotes growth and life. Jesus brings us everlasting life. Light warms and comforts. Light dispels darkness, which stands for
evil. Jesus pierces the darkness of sin
and death and conquers them.
See the light and let Jesus illuminate your life
completely.
Let us pray +
Almighty Father, open our eyes and help us
to see. Only faith helps us see through our
own blindness; only faith opens our eyes to the light and the truth. Open our eyes so we can serve you with
gladness. Amen +
…and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD for years to come.
