Matthew 18:12-13
If
a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray… and if he finds it,
amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did
not stray.
In the course of our
lives, we may have lost something – significant or otherwise. It may be money, key to the house or a loved
one. And we find time to look for them,
leaving everything that we do, just to find them. We are no different at all.
Like a sheep, an old coin or the
squandering son, we have at one time or another been lost and needed to be
found. And the Lord God is continuously
looking for us.
You may be near the Lord but if you keep on
hiding yourself, then finding you will not be easy. Hiding usually comes in the form of shame on
your past deeds. Look up to the Lord and
with a contrite heart shout out to Him, “Lord here I am, have mercy on me a
sinner.” Then, have a changed heart and
change your ways for the better.
Do you feel lost? He is looking for you, He is looking at you. Stop being lost, let yourself be found and
come home now. Jesus assured you that
there will be rejoicing in Heaven for your much-awaited homecoming.
Trust Him as He commences His effective
life-changing ways to find you to re-direct your paths towards Him.
Let us pray +
Most High, glorious God, I was lost and now
I am found be Your perfect love. Enlighten
the darkness of my heart, and give me right faith, certain hope, and perfect
charity, wisdom and understanding, Lord, that I may carry out your holy and
true command.
Amen +
The LORD alone was their leader, no strange god was with him.
