THE JOY OF WORKING

John 17:4-5
I glorified you on earth by accomplishing the work that you gave me to do. Now glorify me, Father, with you, with the glory that I had with you before the world began.
---------------------------------------------------

I read this in the internet as I read through some inspirational readings I receive through email: “A janitress of 40 years was interviewed on how she could stand the monotony of doing the same thing day in and day out. She responded, ‘I don’t get bored. I use cleaning materials that God made. I clean objects that belong to people God made. I make my life comfortable for them. My mop is the hand of God!”

A lot of times we start out to work for God and we fell because of no determination. The reason for this is because we labor or work for the wrong reason. We work for personal gain. We work because we want to satisfy the requirements of men.

It is really amazing to see God in everything that we use to do our work for Him! We may only have simple things at hand, but knowing that you want to accomplish something for the glory of God, I tell you it is enough. Jesus has accomplished even more, and yet he has no computer or celphone. And yet, the Father is glorified in what Jesus Christ has done. All that Jesus did on the earth displayed the infinite love and mercy of God toward sinners, following faithfully the will of God.

Oh Lord, I have been working for 15 years now, and sometimes I feel very exhausted. Maybe because of the same dull, routine activities I do at work, or the long hours of sitting in front of my laptop. I always see the monotony of all of these, and always forget the blessings I receive in doing them.

Father, I must start seeing You in everything that I do. Only me can motivate myself from the time I wake up in the morning to time I retire in the night. And every task, every duty that I do, I do them for You.

“Everytime we go to work
We should show how much we are worth
Everything is God’s blessing
And to Him we bring back… praise never-ending.”

God is a saving God for us…
