GO WITH CHRIST

John 6:68-69
Master, to whom shall we go? We have come to believe and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God.

Something happened and we need money. We looked at our savings and it is not enough. You asked, “to whom shall I go?” You need to start a new business but lots of permits and licenses are needed to be approved. You asked, “to whom shall I go?” You have problems stacking-up over you and you do not know anymore what to do. You asked, “to whom shall I go?”

The question, "To whom shall we go?" suggests that we do need someone to whom we may go – most of the time, for help or to ask for favor. In the gospel today, many of Jesus’ disciples “returned to their former way of life
and no longer walked with him”. They thought joining Jesus is fun. They thought joining Jesus would mean having food on the table always. Most of the multitudes did not see in Jesus what they wanted, what they desired. They only saw what they could get out of following Him.

Jesus did not come to this earth to make it a better place to live, to offer fun and recreation to mankind. He did not die upon that cruel cross in order for man to have a good time. He died to save us. Where else will we find one such as HIM? Here is one who can lift us above the things of the world. Here is one who can lift us through bad surroundings, through failures, through difficulties, through trials. Standing alone we may not be able to succeed, but with Jesus by our side, we can.

Let us pray +

Almighty Father, only You can satisfy our needs. Only to you shall we go. For your Spirit gives life; the words You have spoken heals us. We accept Your invitation of being in Your love forever.
