Psalms 105:2-3
Sing to Him, sing His praise, proclaim all His wondrous deeds. Glory in His holy Name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the LORD!
Your wife was able to close a deal – “Praise the Lord!” You received a salary raise from your boss – “Praise the Lord!” Your son was chosen to be a school representative that will be sent to Japan – “Praise the Lord!” Your father was diagnosed with a terminal cancer – “God, why?!!!”
Are we like this? Only praising God for all the good things He has given us and then totally question Him if we encountered a difficult situation in our life and we don't know what to do. I know it is really difficult, but praising Him more in both situations – good and bad - makes every circumstance of our lives complete, essential, and eminently worthwhile.
Why is praising God all the more important? First, because He is worthy of our praise.
Ø “For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods" (Psalm 96:4).
Ø "You are worthy, our LORD and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being" (Revelation 4:11).
Second, praising God is useful and favorable for us. By praising God, we are reminded of the greatness of God! His power and presence in our lives is reinforced in our understanding. As children of God, He dwells in our bodies through the Holy Spirit. This means that wherever we go, God is to be praised. Singing songs and hymns, clapping our hands, even jumping for joy… the list is endless. There are many ways to praise God! No matter how you praise and worship God, it should result in an awe of God's power, love, and grace for all of us!
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we praise you and give you glory. We bless you for calling us to be your holy people. Remain in our hearts and guide us in our love and service. Help us to let our light shine before others and lead them to the way of faith. Amen +
Seek always the face of the Lord.
