TIME WITH GOD

Luke 21:33
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.”
-------------------------------------------------

God is always busy. He is always busy loving us. And yet, we busy ourselves with taking care of earthly things. Some things that are not evil in themselves may have an evil influence if they crowd God out of our lives. Biking and playing badminton is not evil. If it is, then I'm in real trouble, because I love to do those things. Going to malls and amusement parks is not necessarily evil. Having fun is not evil. But these things (and other normal activities in life) will crowd God out of our lives if we let them.

We must make time with the Lord a number one priority. There are lots of choices in life, and those choices will determine the priorities in our lives. So we must be careful or the "busyness" and simple pleasures of life may crowd out our time with the Lord. One day, I will pass away and so do all those things that I have done. But God would continue to exist in the hearts of many in this world. If God will not exist in my heart today, then I would certainly not exist with Him in the afterlife.

Spend a personal time with the Lord. Even Jesus has been very busy. He ministered to the people in His time. He met their needs. He helped them. And so everybody wanted His time. But in spite of the demands on His time, Jesus made it a priority to get away and spend time with the Father.

So then, we must be changed on a daily basis. It may sound overly simplistic, but continuing change in the Christian life comes from spending time with God. He is the beginning and He will be the end. His words and promises will all be fulfilled. He has been a faithful God and has given us immeasurable blessings. Live in Him. Live with Him. He is our God and His words must not pass away from our hearts.

Let us pray +

Almighty Father, help all who pray to be obedient to Your call when they receive it. Be especially watchful over our church leaders worldwide as their role is key and their obedience vital. Help all of us to learn from our past mistakes so we will not repeat them. Amen +

Here God lives among His people.
