ENERGIZED BY LOVE

Galatians 5:6

For in Christ Jesus, neither… counts for anything, but only faith working through love.

The toy stops moving. The MP3 player stops playing. The celphone becomes useless. The clock stops telling the correct time. Everything stops when the battery is drained. A good battery, no matter what the brand is, may not be able to work because it has been drained. So, you either throw it away or recharge it. But unless it is recharged, that battery is useless!

Similarly, faith is activated and energized through love. Many people's faith is dead, inactive. Your faith may be like a dead battery – unable to produce power. Why? Because faith is energized through love. Love is what makes faith work! Without love, faith is dormant. Love is the power of faith. Our faith is not just knowledge about God but a personal relationship with Him as Lord. Any relationship requires love to succeed, to endure trials and to grow. This includes our relationships with one another because we are called to be family in the Lord and to love one another.

Have you been frustrated with your faith life? Is your faith not working the way the Bible promises it should? Your faith may be in great shape, but unable to work. You can recharge it by plugging it into love. Love energizes faith! Because love is the power of faith we should focus on love, seize it and cultivate it. The heart that recharges in God's love cannot remain guilty, fearful, and greedy. And faith produces this love because it re-energizes our spirit for the thrill of feeling God’s mercy in and through us.

Let us pray +

Lord Jesus, help all of us, regardless of our position, to step out in faith and take our rightful places. We are not helpless, we are certainly not weak, we are children of the King and His rightful heirs. Every day is an opportunity to prepare ourselves – every day is an opportunity to focus our minds and hearts on You and Your purposes. You alone energizes our heart. You have provided, knowing that we will lack no good thing as we seek Your love first above all else.

Amen +

Let your mercy come to me, O LORD, your salvation (as You) promise.
